The Jensen 541 is one of the most extraordinary and, today, rarest British sports cars of its era. With a total production run of just 546 units over its approximately six-year production period, this model is a true rarity simply because of its low production volume.

From a technical standpoint, the Jensen 541 also held a special place. The body was made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic and mounted on a sturdy steel frame. This design, which was advanced for its time, allowed for a comparatively low weight and gave the vehicle remarkable agility. Combined with its distinctive design, the result was a sports car that stood out clearly from the well-known British classics of its era.

The vehicle offered here is also notable for its interesting and extensively documented history. The Jensen was first registered in England on November 18, 1958, in the name of Mr. Gwilyn Owen. In 1984, it passed into the ownership of Ms. Edna Palmer. In 1994, the vehicle was purchased by Mr. Marco Fusco with a mileage of 72,513 kilometers at the time.

At that point, the Jensen had been sitting idle for about 20 years, was not roadworthy, and did not have a valid TÜV inspection. Mr. Fusco then brought the vehicle to Germany. After another change of ownership, the 541 eventually made its way to the Czech Republic, where it underwent a comprehensive restoration and was converted from right-hand drive to left-hand drive.

The restoration was carried out with great care. Since its completion, the Jensen has been driven only 590 miles and is, accordingly, in very good condition. Of particular interest is the fact that the original matching numbers have been preserved. The chassis number is 541/2063848, and the engine number is 10/10679M.

The documentation is also remarkably extensive for a classic car of this age. In addition to numerous historical documents, the collection includes, among other things, Mr. Fusco’s 1994 purchase agreement. There is also a 2018 TÜV report, which further supplements the vehicle’s history.

The Jensen 541’s original powertrain consists of a 4.0-liter inline-six engine from Austin. Combined with its advanced body construction and its appearance—which was extraordinary for its time—the 541 was a sports car that stood out both technically and visually.
